MeshSilk: A Graph-Based Operating System for Personal and Family Finance

What happens when you model life — debt, projects, cash flow — as a network instead of a spreadsheet.

Most financial tools treat your life as a list. A list of transactions. A list of debts. A list of goals. The problem is that your life isn't a list — it's a system. The house construction affects the debt timeline. The debt timeline affects the cash flow. The cash flow affects what projects you can actually run this quarter.

MeshSilk models it as a network.

MeshSilk — graph-based personal finance and life OS

The core idea

Every major element of your financial and personal life — assets, debts, projects, income streams, family members — becomes a node. The relationships between them become edges with real values: a mortgage is an edge between you and a debt with a balance, an interest rate, and a payoff date. A construction project is an edge between a capital reserve and a stage-gate milestone.

The topology view lets you see the whole system at once. When you change something — a payment, a project delay, an income change — the effects propagate through the graph in real time.

The command bar

Most apps require navigation: go to debts, click the account, edit the balance. MeshSilk uses a forward-slash command bar. /debt mortgage -$500 logs a payment and updates the amortization table. /project kitchen-reno stage:framing advances a construction milestone. The whole system is operable in under 2 seconds per action, from anywhere in the app.

It's designed for people who think fast and hate friction — founders, operators, anyone managing complexity across multiple financial fronts simultaneously.

What it actually tracks

MeshSilk is running live against real data: house construction stage gates, family debt amortization, and monthly cash flow across multiple income streams and expense categories. It's not a prototype — it's the tool I use.

The technology is Next.js, Drizzle/Postgres, and PGLite for offline-first operation. Clerk handles auth. The graph rendering is custom SVG.

If personal or family financial complexity is something you're managing in spreadsheets right now, I'd like to show you what this looks like.
